Fairytale Town

Spending the day at Fairytale Town is the BEST $4.50 you will ever spend. The kids literally could have stayed 'til the cow jumped o'r the moon. I love watching the kids experience the magic and fun of being a kid. It truly is a family friendly place! They have turned our fairytale stories that we grew up reading into a playground.

Fairytale town has over two acres of ENCHANTMENT and FUN! It is a nonprofit family park with more than twenty five, bright, dimensional child-sized play sets based on favorite fairytales and nursery rhymes. These give young children a backdrop to act out their favorite stories, to encourage creative discovery, and to exercise on child-friendly slides throughout the lush grounds. A family of friendly animals and children's gardens nestle in this safe and colorful place. Their mission is to promote the imagination, creativity and education of children.

P.S. Make it a full day... bring a picnic lunch and afterwards feed the ducks!

Owr inglish langwij can be confuzing. I am rezisting the temtashun to corekt Tiegan's speling. I do not want to inhibit her dezir and ability to rit, so I ster awa from "corekting" her invnted speling or kindrgrdin riting. I no that as she becomes familyer with riting, she wil mak the tranzishun to convnshunl speling. For now, I wil kuntinu to praz awl her ritings and let her red her riting to me. Christmas countdown and memories

Let the countdown begin. How many days until Christmas? Counting our blessings one by one. Tieg holding on to her princess art set. Happy mama Brae playing with his new train table set. You can't see it but the girls are dancing on their Yo Gabba Gabba! dance mat. Braden loves his lego dump truck.

Kennedy's Christmas Program

The artist behind this amazing free-handed sketch and painted backdrop is one of Kennedy's teachers. I watched it unfold into this scene right before my eyes.

This year's Christmas song selection was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Dreidel, Frosty the Snowman, and Jingle Bells. Kennedy loves singing with her friends. There were a few characters in the show that made us laugh SO HARD our eyes watered. Although it was VERY entertaining, we were just thankful it wasn't our kid THIS time. Right, Jen?
They practiced very hard and did a beautiful job. Take a bow or curtsy... Kennedy made sure to give her wish list to Santa this year!

Tiegan's Christmas Program

Last Friday was a fun day @ Kindergarten for Miss Tiegan.

Look closely... our girl is in the front shaking her maraca bootie while singing "I want to wish you a Merry Christmas/Feliz Navidad." We have a little performer on our hands. She made us very proud!

Back @ the classroom, she participated in a "musical" book exchange. The teacher played Christmas music and when it stopped the last student holding the wrapped book... got to keep it! Great idea and oh, what fun. Jolly Old Santa Claus was the book she was gifted. Before the day was over, all the Kindergarteners took a walking field trip to bring some Christmas cheer to the ladies and gentlemen at the neighborhood assisted living home. Tiegan was awe struck by the number of elderly people grouped together in ONE significant place. But if you could have seen their faces while the children sang their Christmas carols, it would have warmed your heart. Special Christmas memories.

I'm the Gingerbread Girl!

Tiegan's Kindergarten class has spent a couple of weeks reading different renditions of the "Gingerbread Man" by various authors. And to add some classroom realia, her teacher had the children make their own gingerbread houses. Tieg was so excited! I thought it would be neat to put a little twist into it and share with her the newest sequel... "The Gingerbread Girl." So we went to the library and checked it out. Cute story! And for her class party, we baked some gingerbread cookies. The kids loved 'em. And her teacher was thrilled! Kudos for Tiegan!
